Project Zomboid is a hardcore, open-world zombie survival sandbox where every hour alive is earned. Set in the quarantined towns of Knox Country, this isometric sim challenges you to scavenge, craft, build, and outsmart relentless hordes in a world where one mistake can end your story.
Manage hunger, thirst, fatigue, injuries, and infection while navigating a sound and line-of-sight driven AI that reacts to noise and movement. Fortify safehouses, farm, fish, and maintain vehicles as power and water fail over time. Shape your survivor with professions and traits, level up deep skill trees, and adapt to weather, seasons, and ever-growing threats. How to play:
- Create your survivor by choosing a profession and traits that define your strengths, weaknesses, and playstyle.
- Scavenge homes, stores, and warehouses for food, water, tools, weapons, and medicine while managing weight and perishables.
- Stay unseen by using stealth, controlling noise, breaking line of sight, and luring or avoiding hordes strategically.
- Build and secure a base by barricading, crafting defenses, setting up rain collectors, generators, and safe storage.
- Develop skills and craft essentials by cooking, carpentry, mechanics, farming, and reading books to boost learning speed.
- Plan for the long haul by treating injuries, preventing infection, maintaining vehicles, mapping routes, and preparing for power and water shutdowns.
