modstep is a mobile music sequencer and performance workstation for creating beats, melodies, and full arrangements on the go. It combines an intuitive clip-based step sequencer with a powerful sampler and effects so you can sketch ideas fast and polish them for the stage or studio. Seamless MIDI control lets you drive external gear or other music apps, making it a flexible hub for producers and live performers. Ideal for beatmaking, live sets, and rapid songwriting, this music production app focuses on speed, control, and a smooth workflow.
Core features include a clip and piano-roll sequencer for drums and melodies, an integrated sampler and effects for sound design, and flexible MIDI routing to control instruments inside or outside the app. With real-time performance tools and easy exporting, modstep helps you go from idea to release-ready tracks quickly.

How to use:
1. Download and install modstep, open the app, and allow audio and MIDI permissions for proper input and output.
2. Create a new project, set your tempo, and choose a template or start from an empty session.
3. Add a track by loading the built-in sampler or connecting an external synth or music app, then select a sound or kit.
4. Program your beat or melody using the step grid or piano roll, or record live with the on-screen keys or a MIDI controller, then loop and duplicate clips to build sections.
5. Arrange and perform by triggering clips, adjusting mixer levels, adding effects and automation in real time, then save and export audio or MIDI, or sync projects with your desktop DAW for final mixing.
