How to play:
Choose Your Hero:
At the start of each game, you’ll select a hero, each with unique abilities and starting cards. Some heroes are strong in offense, others specialize in defense or healing. The combination of hero abilities and your chosen cards will form the core of your strategy.
Deck-Building:
As you progress through the game, you'll acquire new cards that expand your deck. Cards come in different types: attack, defense, healing, magic, and utility. Each turn, you draw cards from your deck to use in combat or other situations.
Attack Cards: Deal damage to enemies.
Defense Cards: Protect you from incoming damage.
Special Cards: Provide unique effects, such as healing or debuffing enemies.
Combat:
Battles are turn-based and involve selecting cards from your hand to play against enemies. Each card has a cost, and you'll need to manage your resources wisely. Enemy attacks and abilities are often unpredictable, so you'll need to plan your moves ahead to avoid taking too much damage.
Health and Energy: Pay attention to your health and energy levels as they will determine how many cards you can play in a turn and how many hits you can take from enemies.
Explore & Encounter Events:
As you journey through different areas, you'll encounter various events, quests, and enemies. Some encounters are battles, while others are opportunities to gain resources, cards, or healing. Choose your path wisely, as each event can either help or hinder your progress.
Event Choices: Sometimes, you’ll be given a choice of paths or decisions that impact your resources, health, or future battles.
Upgrades and Leveling:
After each battle or event, you’ll have the opportunity to upgrade your hero or acquire new cards. Upgrades might include increasing your health, energy, or the effectiveness of your cards. You can also purchase new cards or upgrade existing ones, improving your deck’s synergy.
Boss Fights:
Throughout the journey, you’ll face powerful bosses with special abilities and high health. These battles require careful planning and deck management, as they are much harder than standard encounters. Defeating bosses rewards you with valuable loot and progression toward completing the game.
Death & Progression:
As a roguelike, Meteorfall: Journeys doesn’t allow you to simply reload and retry after you fail. When your hero’s health reaches zero, it’s game over. However, death isn’t the end—every failed run earns you progress towards unlocking new heroes, cards, and upgrades, giving you a chance to try again with new strategies.
Replayability:
With a variety of heroes to unlock, dozens of different cards to collect, and multiple paths to take, no two playthroughs are the same. The random elements of the game ensure that each adventure feels fresh, challenging, and rewarding.
Player Interaction:
PvE: The game is primarily focused on single-player experiences, where you fight enemies, explore, and make decisions that impact your journey.
Strategic Depth: Each card played and each decision made can have lasting consequences, encouraging deep strategic thinking.
