How to Use the 3D Modeling App: Sculpt & Draw
Download and Install the App
Begin by downloading and installing the 3D Modeling App: Sculpt & Draw from the Play Store on your smartphone or tablet.
Start a New Project or Import an Existing Model
Once the app is open, you can either create a new 3D model from scratch or import an existing .obj file. To start a new project, simply tap "New Project" and choose the shape or base object you want to begin with.
Use Gesture Controls to Manipulate Objects
Use touch gestures to move, rotate, and scale your 3D objects. Pinch to zoom, drag to rotate, and swipe to move around the 3D workspace. This gives you full control over how you view and adjust your model.
Add and Edit Geometry
You can modify the 3D geometry using the Vertex, Edge, and Face tools. Select vertices to merge or connect, draw edge loops to refine your model, and extrude or delete faces to adjust your object’s structure. Switch between selection modes for vertices, edges, or faces by long tapping.
Sculpt Your Model
For more organic shapes, use the Sculpting Tools. Select the sculpt tool, then choose the brush size and strength to push, pull, smooth, or move parts of the surface. This is perfect for creating detailed characters or intricate shapes.
Apply Colors and Materials
To add color or texture to your model, use the Coloring tools. Apply vertex color painting or assign one of the 20 available materials to different parts of your model. This brings your design to life with realistic shading and textures.
Work with Layers and Objects
Use the Object Tools to combine or separate objects, mirror elements, and manage the model’s smoothness. You can duplicate objects, adjust their orientation, and create complex designs by layering multiple 3D elements.
Customize the Display
Use the Display Tools to toggle grid lines, shadows, wireframes, and axis visibility. You can also view detailed information such as triangle counts and distances between vertices, which is useful for ensuring your model is accurate.
Undo with History Feature
The app offers a History function that lets you undo up to 50 actions. This is helpful if you need to go back and change any adjustments you made to the model’s geometry, size, or position.
Export and Save Your Model
Once your 3D model is complete, you can export it in .obj format, which can be imported into popular 3D modeling and CAD software such as Maya, Blender, AutoCAD, and others. Simply choose the export option and save your model for future use or further refinement.
Continue Working on Saved Projects
The app has an Auto-Save feature, so you can pick up where you left off anytime. You can also manually save your project and access it later from the project menu.
